South Carolina is in position to land former Vanderbilt quarterback AJ Swann out of the transfer portal.
That’s according to On3’s Pete Nakos, who is projecting Swann to commit to the Gamecocks. Swann has also been considering LSU.
I have placed my prediction in the RPM for Vanderbilt transfer quarterback AJ Swann to land at South Carolina.
With two years of eligibility remaining, he's thrown for 2,731 career yards and 22 touchdowns. Visited the Gamecocks and LSU.https://t.co/Gop91oc3f8 pic.twitter.com/UqDwiA0okn

Swann would be a big pickup in the transfer portal for South Carolina. The Gamecocks are looking to replace Spencer Rattler, who has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Swann has received significant playing time for the Commodores over the past two seasons. He completed 56.3% of his passes for 2,731 yards, 22 touchdowns and 9 interceptions during his time at Vanderbilt. He averaged 7.4 yards per attempt this past season as well.
South Carolina has been very active in the transfer portal so far this season. The Gamecocks have picked up commitments from 9 players already as they look to rebuild their roster in 2024. South Carolina will be trying to get back to bowl eligibility next season after missing the postseason in 2023.
Swann will have 2 years of eligibility remaining.
