It’s an ACC-heavy list for Gilbert. South Carolina is the only SEC team to make the cut. The Gamecocks are competing with Duke, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Pitt and Virginia Tech for Gilbert’s commitment.

A Charlotte Christian standout, Gilbert is listed at 6-3, 203 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Gilbert is rated 4-stars, the No. 5 player in North Carolina, No. 37 wide receiver and No. 242 prospect overall nationally in the 2024 recruiting class.

South Carolina was among the first 8 teams to extend Gilbert a scholarship offer. The Gamecocks have been recruiting Gilbert since fall of 2021 and have managed to get him on campus for multiple visits.
