The South Carolina Gamecocks have a big weekend planned in Columbia but Mother Nature might have something to say about it.

Wednesday, the program issues a press release stating that inclement weather is predicted for Saturday, which could change plans for the spring football game and the highly anticipated Arkansas-South Carolina baseball series:

The University of South Carolina Athletics Department is monitoring weather forecasts for this weekend, as rain and thunderstorms are predicted for the Columbia area on Saturday. Any dates or time changes in scheduled athletics events will be announced by Thursday afternoon.

On Saturday, Carolina is scheduled to host its annual Garnet & Black spring football game at Williams-Brice Stadium starting at 2 p.m. and the Gamecock baseball team is slated to host Arkansas at 4 p.m. at Founders Park.

Fans can monitor information on these events on Gamecock social media channels or on the official website of South Carolina Athletics, GamecocksOnline.com.

The baseball series against No. 1 Arkansas is set to being Thursday at 7 p.m. ET. The Gamecocks are looking to claim their fifth SEC series in a row following series wins over Florida, Georgia, Mizzou and LSU.

The Thursday game marks the start of increased capacity at Founders Park. Capacity for the remaining home baseball games will increase from 1,938 to 3,350.
