The South Carolina Gamecocks are finishing their season on Saturday afternoon against rival Clemson in a game that will be tough to win.

Now, they’re dealing with an unwelcome distraction, too, as a backup was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Saturday morning.

Per a report from The Post and Courier, senior punter Michael Almond was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning:

Almond was arrested Saturday morning and charged with driving under the influence and driving at a greater speed than reasonable under conditions. He was released from jail after posting personal recognizance bonds of $1,017 and $76.88, Columbia police records show.

Obviously, not having a backup punter available won’t have much of an impact (if any) on this game, but it’s still something coach Will Muschamp and his staff had to deal with this morning.
