South Carolina is adding one key assistant to Shane Beamer’s staff and keeping another important person in Columbia.

On Tuesday, the school approved a contract for new OC Dowell Loggains, who comes to South Carolina via Arkansas.

Per South Carolina insider David Cloninger, the 3-year contract for Loggains is worth $1 million per season:

In addition to Loggains’ contract, an extension and raise has also been approved for special teams coordinator Pete Lembo, who was a Broyles Award semifinalist in 2022.

Lembo’s new contract will take him through the 2025 season and will pay him $725,000 per year:

Loggains has served as Arkansas’s tight ends coach the past 2 seasons. He has previous experience as an offensive coordinator at the NFL level with the Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets.

Lembo has spent the past 2 seasons with the Gamecocks, transforming the team’s special-teams units into some of the best in the nation.
