South Carolina is off to a good start in Baton Rouge.

The Gamecocks took a 7-0 lead over No. 16 LSU with a 7-play, 75-yard touchdown drive to start the game. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers got the ball just over the plane with a diving effort to secure the score:

Sellers completed 2-of-3 passes for 75 yards on the drive. Running back Raheim Sanders also had a big role, rushing for 44 yards on 3 carries en route to the end zone.

It’s a great start for a South Carolina team that is a significant underdog on Saturday. Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks closed as 6.5 point underdogs at most sportsbooks on Saturday.

LSU has recorded 7 consecutive wins in this series. South Carolina’s last victory over the Tigers came way back in 1994 in Baton Rouge. South Carolina has not defeated LSU in Columbia since 1930 — the first-ever meeting between these 2 programs.
