South Carolina’s Wes Clarke launches 3 home runs in win over Winthrop

The South Carolina Gamecocks are off to a 4-0 start to this young baseball season, sweeping an opening weekend series against Dayton.
On Tuesday, the Gamecocks hosted Winthrop and cruised to a 12-4 victory. The offense was led by catcher Wes Clarke, who had himself a day at the plate.
As you can see below, Clarke launched 3 home runs in the win over Winthrop:

He finished the game making 5 plate appearances. In those plate appearances, he hit 3 solo home runs, walked twice and scored 4 runs.
The Gamecocks have scored 12 runs in 3 of their 4 games thus far. We’ll see if the offense continues this weekend, when they play a 3-game series against rival Clemson. The first game will be at Clemson. The second will be in Greenville. The third will be a home game for the Gamecocks.
