Spencer Rattler will have one familiar target available to him in tight end Austin Stogner as the former Oklahoma teammates make their South Carolina debut against Georgia State on Sept. 3.

If he has his way, he’ll have another one in the wide receiving corps as well.

Sooners wide receiver Mario Williams, a former 4-star recruit ranked as the No. 4 WR in the class of 2021 by 247Sports, on Tuesday announced on his Twitter account that he had entered the transfer portal.

And it didn’t take long for Rattler to make his pitch to Williams:

As a true freshman, Williams totaled 4 touchdowns and 380 yards on 35 catches. He had a 5-catch, 100-yard, 1-touchdown day against Texas Tech on Oct. 30.

Mario Williams’ decision to enter the transfer portal comes 1 day after quarterback Caleb Williams (no relation) opted to do so. While both players are free to exit the portal and remain at Oklahoma, Mario Williams’ departure appears to be a done deal, while Caleb Williams has stated that it’s possible he could return to Norman.
