Stephon Gilmore didn’t waste any time making an impact for the Carolina Panthers in his first game after a trade from the New England Patriots.
Gilmore’s interception helped the Panthers preserve the win in a 19-13 victory for Carolina. It came with 1:53 remaining in the game, and was his first pick in a Panthers uniform.
Gilmore was activated on Sunday off of the Physically Unable to Perform list after he was acquired from the Patriots in early October for a 2023 sixth-round draft pick. Gilmore, the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year and an impending free agent, has looked for a new contract after he was named to 3 consecutive Pro Bowl in New England.
The former South Carolina star is giving plenty of fans in the Carolinas reason to celebrate on Sunday.
