South Carolina’s upset of then-No. 18 Tennessee on Oct. 29 caught the attention of many around the nation, including the Gamecocks’ former coach.

Will Muschamp said during a Tuesday news conference that he got a congratulatory call from Steve Spurrier, who resigned as South Carolina’s coach midway through last season, after picking up the huge SEC East win two weeks ago.

Muschamp and Spurrier have both taken similar career paths, coaching at Florida before eventually landing at South Carolina. No matter which way you slice it, the Head Ball Coach seems to appreciate a win against the Volunteers.
