The South Carolina Gamecocks have a brutal 2019 schedule. In addition to taking on the top three teams in the country in Alabama, Clemson and Georgia, the Gamecocks also have games against tough teams like Texas A&M, Mizzou and Florida.
So, what will success look like for coach Will Muschamp and his squad this fall as they navigate that tough road?
At SEC Media Days on Tuesday, former Florida and South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier weighed in, saying he thinks six, seven or eight wins would be a great accomplishment for the Gamecocks (via The State):
“He’s doing fine,” Spurrier said. “He’s doing well. They’ve got a tough schedule, got a very difficult schedule. If he can get through that with six, seven, eight wins, it’ll be a heck of a year.”
We’ll hear from Muschamp, QB Jake Bentley and others during the South Carolina portion of Media Days on Wednesday, and they’ll likely be asked about the schedule.
