Still waiting: Will Muschamp says Jordan Burch has not submitted LOI
Will Muschamp announced at his National Signing Day press conference that South Carolina had signed four players on Wednesday. The one notable omission? 5-star defensive tackle Jordan Burch.
Muschamp wasn’t allowed to discuss Burch at the time of his meeting with the media, as the Gamecocks had still not received Burch’s national letter of intent. Burch, who has been committed to South Carolina since Dec. 18, didn’t sign during the Early Signing Period, instead waiting for Wednesday to sign with the program.
Although Muschamp didn’t seen too concerned about South Carolina not having Burch’s NLI in hand, it is noteworthy that the 5-star recruit is the only member of the Gamecocks’ 2020 class to have not sent his in yet.
“We’ll be fine,” Muschamp told the media.
So, the wait continues. And until Burch’s NLI arrives, South Carolina fans will likely still have at least a little bit of worry about what this situation means exactly.
It’s worth noting that one of Burch’s teammates at Hammond School in Columbia, 4-star defensive tackle Alex Huntley, has already sent in his NLI to the Gamecocks, as South Carolina announced his signing on Twitter.
Burch chose to commit to South Carolina over offers from Clemson and LSU.
Uh oh
Weird. I’m getting a feeling this kid may be trouble. No reason to act this way.
Mama is trouble. Gotta let him grow up a little
“We comin'”
Yep!
Obviously the kid is torn in making this decision. Got the home school tugging on his heart strings opposed by a good desire to play somewhere else.
He’ll likely make the NFL no matter what school he chooses but he’d have more tm success in BR. Good luck to him no matter what he decides. It’s likely the 1st big decision of his life and he’s struggling obviously.
Absolutely, like Javon Kinlaw.
Burch is not torn….he wants to go to LSU but his momma wants him to go to S. Carolina.
I’ve heard that. If true, he needs to go where he wants as he’s the one who has to live with the decision.
It’s hard to go against momma though! Lol
Yikes. Not sure I know what to think. Hope it ends well for all.
I’m hearing mom and son aren’t seeing eye to eye. Burch needs to make the decision that is right for him. Mom needs to step back.
Agreed. He’s gotta live with the decision either way. May as well be what he wants. But when momma comes calling…..
I hope this kid isn’t another #5 from Ole Miss. can’t remember his name. High maintenance got in trouble then thought he was too good to play in the end.
robert nkemdiche
nkemdiche was a really talented athlete, but momma told him he was going to Ole Miss(as I remember he wanted to go to Clemson to be with some high school friends playing there).
That rat is smart enough to not jump in the dumpster fire currently at Cooter U. A month ago when this news first came out on SDS I called it, you can look back and see. Honestly, who in their right mind wants to commit to USC and Muschamp right now?
Well, obviously not Burch. Something is up when you sign a fake LOI. I don’t think it is the attention he wants. Seems more like he doesn’t want to go there.
This young man should be able to make his own decision, as to where he feels that his talents will be developed even more and receive the most exposure…prior to the NFL. I know that those apron-strings & friends do play a role…but it’s his life-decision & may be the most important one he ever makes. So I actually commend him for taking his time, to hopefully make the best decision for his future playing location.
“Honestly, who in their right mind wants to commit to USC and Muschamp right now”
I’m sorry but this is hilarious coming from a team that lost at home to Ga. St. last season.

see how that works? blind squirrels, nuts, and so on
Until this year I’d have to agree with you though, who would want to go to UT. But I’m changing all that now, we seem to have turned things around, at least for the time being.
Anyway, this is a thread about Muschamp and the Coots hopes and dreams of a good recruiting season and thus a good 2020 season pretty much being flushed down the crapper.
I’m just watching the swirl
Burch never actually verbally committed to SC during the ceremony. He just said he would be playing with his friends. We still have a shot, however small.
Momma waiting for best offer before she signs anything. I’m guessing he’s still 17 and needs her signature..
Bingo
Well, this thread didn’t age well.
