Will Muschamp announced at his National Signing Day press conference that South Carolina had signed four players on Wednesday. The one notable omission? 5-star defensive tackle Jordan Burch.

Muschamp wasn’t allowed to discuss Burch at the time of his meeting with the media, as the Gamecocks had still not received Burch’s national letter of intent. Burch, who has been committed to South Carolina since Dec. 18, didn’t sign during the Early Signing Period, instead waiting for Wednesday to sign with the program.

Although Muschamp didn’t seen too concerned about South Carolina not having Burch’s NLI in hand, it is noteworthy that the 5-star recruit is the only member of the Gamecocks’ 2020 class to have not sent his in yet.

“We’ll be fine,” Muschamp told the media.

So, the wait continues. And until Burch’s NLI arrives, South Carolina fans will likely still have at least a little bit of worry about what this situation means exactly.

It’s worth noting that one of Burch’s teammates at Hammond School in Columbia, 4-star defensive tackle Alex Huntley, has already sent in his NLI to the Gamecocks, as South Carolina announced his signing on Twitter.

Burch chose to commit to South Carolina over offers from Clemson and LSU.
