It’s unlikely that many teams will be able to compete with Georgia this season. But former Florida quarterback and SEC Network analyst Tim Tebow believes there’s one team that could potentially upset the Bulldogs.

And that’s South Carolina on Saturday.

“This is the best South Carolina has matched up with Georgia in years,” Tebow said on Friday on “The Paul Finebaum Show.” “If there’s a team that can knock off Georgia, I think South Carolina has a chance to make that happen.”

Tebow also added that he believes the timing of the game is important, as South Carolina gets Georgia in Week 2 and at home.

This is a matchup of ranked opponents as Georgia sits at No. 3 and South Carolina moved into the rankings at No. 24 this week.

The Bulldogs have dominated the all-time series against the Gamecocks, as they lead it, 50-18-2. They’ve also won the last three meetings between the schools. South Carolina’s last win over Georgia was on Sept. 13, 2014.

But perhaps the Gamecocks can add a more recent victory over the Bulldogs on Saturday.

South Carolina and Georgia are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET at Williams-Brice Stadium.
