South Carolina is breaking in new running back Tavien Feaster this fall after the graduate transfer came over from rival Clemson during the summer.
Feaster will likely be the top back for the Gamecocks when the 2019 season starts, so we’ll soon see how much he adds to the team’s running game.
On Monday, several key defenders weighed in on how Feaster has looked in practice in this 247Sports piece. Here’s what talented CB Jaycee Horn said:
“Tavien looks good,” Horn said. “He’s getting adjusted to the practice tempo. We practice real hard here. He’s getting adjusted, but he has looked good. He runs behind his pads real well. I’m excited to have him here. He’s real cool. We’ve had a couple locker room conversations. He’s on our row (of lockers). He’s a real cool guy and fits right in.”
And star LB T.J. Brunson was also complimentary of Feaster:
“He’s a really good player,” Brunson said. “He has really good vision. He’s a pretty fast guy. I’m looking forward to him adding some depth to the team, being a playmaker for us.”
Feaster had 1,330 yards and 15 touchdowns as a rusher during his three years at Clemson. He’ll compete with A.J. Turner, Rico Dowdle and Mon Denson for carries.
