Jaycee Horn had his first career interception in South Carolina’s win over Auburn, and so much more.

Ultimately, he made two interceptions and his pass break up all led to three touchdowns for the Gamecocks. Overall, Horn also had four pass breakups in the win for a 30-22 victory that was South Carolina’s first win over Auburn in 87 years.

“If a team throws at him like that every game, he’ll have a game like that every game,” Gamecocks receiver Shi Smith said of Horn, the son of NFL receiver Joe Horn.

A confident defender, Horn let out a major league troll of Auburn QB Bo Nix after the game.

Nix was 24 of 47 passing for 272 yards with one touchdown and the three interceptions.

Coach Will Muschamp had high praise for Horn, and added, “If there’s a better corner out there, I want to see him.” Muschamp said the Gamecocks felt good about Horn’s matchup with Seth Williams, who he largely neutralized.

“He and Williams battled all day. It was a great battle,” Muschamp said.

QB Collin Hill felt the same way.

“That’s a bad man,” Hill said. “I hate going against him, but it makes us better. You always have to know where that guy is. He had two huge interceptions for us that led to touchdowns. I think he did a great job all day.”
