South Carolina QB Dakereon Joyner ended up at No. 3 on the quarterback depth chart entering the 2019 season.

However, after an injury to starter Jake Bentley, Joyner is now the backup for true freshman Ryan Hilinski, and he got into the game early against Charleston Southern.

As you can see below, he responded with a really impressive long run, and followed that up by scampering into the end zone for his first South Carolina score:

Perhaps the coolest part of the above video was Hilinski’s reaction. No one was happier for Joyner than the freshman quarterback.

Yes, it’s only against Charleston Southern, but both quarterbacks are looking good for the Gamecocks this weekend.
