The South Carolina Gamecocks hired former star RB Marcus Lattimore to their coaching staff this week, and he’ll serve as the team’s running backs coach.

He’s a very popular person in Columbia, and he will be welcomed back by the fanbase with open arms.

As you can see in the video below, shared by @GamecockFB on Twitter, the team put together a cool tribute to Lattimore as he embarks on his new job:

Lattimore finished his college career with 2,677 yards and 38 rushing touchdowns, but didn’t make much of an impact in his NFL career after suffering a couple of serious knee injuries during his time at South Carolina.

The Gamecocks need a stronger running game in 2018, and Lattimore may be the guy to help the current running backs take their next step.
