Will Muschamp details plans for recently retired TE Kiel Pollard to help South Carolina coaching staff
After suffering a neck injury in practice this week, South Carolina TE Kiel Pollard was forced to medically retire from football.
Obviously, that’s very sad news for a talented young player like Pollard, but he’s keeping his spirits high and working on what’s next.
After South Carolina’s scrimmage on Saturday, coach Will Muschamp said Pollard — who wants to get into coaching — would assist the Gamecocks’ coaching staff this season:
Muschamp: Pollard wants to get into coaching after he graduates in December. He'll join USC's staff this season and help out.

That first-hand experience will be huge for Pollard as he decides what the future holds for him in his post-football life.
Working with an FBS staff in this capacity will be a big benefit, and we can’t wait to see what his coaching career has in store for him.
