The South Carolina Gamecocks are a bit short at the tight end position this fall camp, as starter Kiel Pollard is working his way through a shoulder issue.
On Monday, they lost another tight end, this one for a longer period of time, it seems.
After practice on Monday, coach Will Muschamp said backup TE Evan Hinson would miss 6-8 weeks due to an irregular heartbeat:
Injury news from USC's first (closed) scrimmage: Evan Hinson has an irregular heartbeat. He's going to have a procedure done and be out 6-8 weeks.
Taylor Stallworth had the same thing done in his career and was fine, but another tough break for Hinson.

Hinson is now dedicated to football after splitting time between basketball and football the past couple of years.
This is a scary situation, but as David Cloninger notes above, it is a procedure that another Gamecock — DL Taylor Stallworth — dealt with and ended up being OK.
