Will Muschamp: South Carolina 'made it a lot harder than it needed to be' in win over Florida
It wasn’t always pretty, but South Carolina came away with the win over Florida.
The Gamecocks put up solid numbers offensively with 469 total yards while controlling the clock with 35:41 time of possession. QB Jake Bentley threw for 249 yards and rushed for two touchdowns, but three interceptions from Bentley kept Florida in the contest until the very end.
The Gators could not do enough offensively as they averaged just 3.5 yards per carry while rushing for 78 yards in the game. They could not do much more in the air with QB Feleipe Franks completing 10 of 25 passes for 174 yards and a late interception.
The win moves South Carolina to 7-3 in Muschamp’s second season with games remaining against Wofford and Clemson. It looks like the Gamecocks are making progress, and here is what Muschamp had to say following the win over the Gators:
