Tori Gurley and Syvelle Newton don’t agree with how the South Carolina loss to Alabama played out on Saturday. The former South Carolina players took wildly different views on coach Will Muschamp.

Newton, who played with the Gamecocks from 2003-06, is a big Muschamp supporter, and went so far as to say, “We did NOT get out coached we just loss to a great football team who capitalized off miss opportunities. Don’t be surprised if we in Atlanta come December.”

That is certainly an outlier opinion in regards to the 1-2 Gamecocks, who are heading to Missouri this week.

Gurley, meanwhile, played off of a quote from Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa, who said they weren’t surprised by what the Gamecocks did based on the Crimson Tide film study.

“Y’all bashing me but that’s #muschamp being out coached by #Saban,” Gurley said. “The film don’t lie!!! That’s all I said yesterday.”

Gurley, who played in Columbia in 2009 and 2010, gave Muschamp credit for being aggressive, but said Muschamp pushed his luck “four times on fourth down,” and he should have known better what to expect from Nick Saban.
