Gamecocks’ senior DB Jamarcus King went down during South Carolina’s spring game on Saturday, and he was seen with an air cast on his arm as he left the field.

While defender D.J. Smith put a big hit on wide receiver Bryan Edwards, King’s arm was caught in the crossfire on the attempted tackle.

During halftime, Gamecocks coach Will Muschamp updated the public on King’s status on the SEC Network.

“He’ll be out the rest of the day,” Muschamp said. “He’ll probably have a plate put in his forearm. It could have been much worse but it wasn’t. He should be fine. He should be back lifting in two weeks.”

We’re not sure whether Muschamp was joking when he said that King would be lifting in two weeks, because he said it while smiling. Regardless, a healthy Jamarcus King is crucial for South Carolina’s defense.
