Xavier Legette is 6-foot-3, 227 pounds and can absolutely fly.

And for what it’s worth, according to these metrics Legette was the quickest football player in the country last weekend. Here’s a look at the top speeds from the NFL in Week 3:
NFLs fastest WK3 ball-carriers per Next Gen Stats
Tyreek Hill 22.07 MPH
Devon Achane 21.93 MPH
Devon Achane 21.5 MPH
Rashid Shaheed 21.42 MPH
Jerry Jeudy 20.95 MPH
Tank Dell 20.82 MPH
Marvin Mims 20.72 MPH
Calvin Austin 20.45 MPH
Tyreek Hill 20.41 MPH
Andrew Beck 20.37 MPH— Brandon Olsen (@WNS_Brandon) September 25, 2023
Legette is dangerous for multiple reasons, but his speed has opened up a lot of opportunity with Spencer Rattler as his QB. Legette currently leads the SEC in receiving yards per game at 139 yards per game, over 8 more yards than 2nd place (Malik Nabers).
South Carolina has a big one this week. The Gamecocks can finally pick up a ranked win against Tennessee in Knoxville after a pair of losses to North Carolina and Georgia to start the season.
