Following Missouri’s loss to Texas A&M on Saturday, Army became the team with the longest-active winning streak in the nation.

Jeff Monken’s Black Knights cruised to a 49-7 win over Tulsa on Saturday, propelling them to a perfect 5-0 record overall and a 4-0 mark in conference play during their first season in the American. The victory extended the program’s overall winning streak to nine game.

Miami and Oregon are tied for second, with each team being on a 6-game winning streak currently.

Army has not lost since a 21-14 defeat at the hands of UMass late last October. Since then, Monken’s squad has not allowed a single team to score more than 21 points in a game.

And, per usual, Army is running the ball at a high clip. The team leads the nation in rushing yards per game in averaging 361.2 per outing, which is exactly 60 yards more than the next highest team (Boise State).

And, the upcoming schedule does not offer too many opportunities for this team to lose the winning streak. Army returns to West Point for a two-game AAC homestand against lowly UAB and East Carolina over the next two weeks. Then, they’ll host struggling rivals Air Force before hitting the road for potentially their biggest test to date against North Texas.

Matchups with Notre Dame and also undefeated Navy loom later in the season as well.

The Black Knights face the Blazers at 11:00 a.m. ET on Saturday.
