With Nebraska’s game this week against Wisconsin canceled, the Cornhuskers wanted to fill the void. Apparently, the B1G has ruled against it.

Wisconsin suffered a COVID-19 outbreak that saw 12 members of the football program test positive: six student-athletes and six staff members, including head coach Paul Chryst.

In response, Nebraska arranged a TBD replacement game against FCS opponent Chattanooga. Yet, according to ESPN reporter Adam Rittenberg, the conference isn’t allowing it, even though Chattanooga has been tested and is virus-free.

Nebraska’s next game will be at Northwestern on Nov. 7.

The B1G postponed the 2020 football season and eventually decided on a conference-only schedule because of COVID-19. That was widely criticized on social media and this latest B1G verdict is drawing similar ire.
