CFB team’s cheer coach says she was knocked unconscious by bottle thrown from stands
At the conclusion of a wild Holy War in Salt Lake City, Utah fans were less than pleased with a defensive holding call that allowed BYU to drive down the field and kick a game-winning field goal as time expired.
The Utes’ faithful expressed their displeasure by throwing trash onto the field, something that has unfortunately become a trend in college football as of late.
And, it appeared to have led to a BYU cheer coach being knocked unconscious by a water bottle that was thrown onto the field.

In the message, the coach says that they were hit in the head by a bottle and lowered to the ground by a fellow cheerleader. Local police are looking into the incident, but anybody with more information is encouraged to reach out. They said it appeared to come from the table/suite style seating area by the end zone.
The Utes were looking to salvage some of their season by playing spoiler to their arch rivals, knocking them from the ranks of the unbeaten. But, yet another edition of late-game heroics from Jake Retzlaf and the Cougars allowed them to remain unblemished on the year.
