Deion Sanders will be losing assistant and great recruiter Nick Williams to Louisville.

It was reported earlier that Williams was going to Syracuse, but Sanders cleared things up in an interview with 247Sports on Monday.

Williams played for Georgia from 2008-2010, seeing time at both safety and linebacker.

Williams was the defensive ends coach in Boulder this year. Before heading to Colorado, Williams was an assistant at Georgia from 2018-2020 and at Texas A&M from 2021-2022.

Colorado had 27 sacks this season, which ranked 6th in the Pac-12.

Williams recruited top prospects in the 2024 class like 4-star athlete Kamron Mikell and 4-star defensive lineman Brandon Davis-Swain and convinced them to verbally commit to the Buffaloes.

Having a recruiter like Williams on staff will be a plus for Louisville. The Cardinals reached the ACC title game and will be facing USC in the Holiday Bowl.

Year one under Sanders didn’t end well. After a 3-0 start, Colorado won 1 more game this season to end the year at 4-8.
