Florida State-Boston College betting line sees massive shift in wake of FSU’s Week 0 loss
Florida State is favored by more than 2 touchdowns at home against Boston College in Week 1, but the number has moved significantly in recent days.
FSU opened as a consensus 21.5-point favorite at home against Boston College last week. Now just a few days later, the Noles are favored by 15.5 points at most sportsbooks.
Bet365, for example, is pricing Florida State -15.5 (-110). On the moneyline, FSU opened at -2500 and is now -650 per bet365.

The major shift comes as a result of Florida State’s crushing loss to Georgia Tech in Week 1. The Yellow Jackets won 24-21 on a field goal as time expired. FSU was a double-digit favorite heading into that game against Georgia Tech.
Still, it’s somewhat surprising to see a full 6-point shift in the line based on FSU’s performance in Dublin. Florida State has performed very well against the spread in spots like this over the past couple of years. Since the start of the 2022 season, FSU is 11-0 straight up and 7-4 against the spread when favored by 14 points or more.
Florida State has also done well against the spread vs. ACC competition over the past 2 seasons. The Noles are 14-4 straight up and 11-7 against the spread vs. ACC opponents over that time span.
However, one of those ATS losses was against Boston College last season. The Noles were favored by 25.5 points on the road at BC last season, and ended up skating by with a 31-29 win in Chestnut Hill. Thomas Castellanos, BC’s starting quarterback, threw for 305 yards and rushed for 95 more in that narrow defeat.
Florida State and Boston College will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on Monday night.
