Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti wasn’t happy about an ultimately inconsequential holding penalty that may not have ruffled the feathers of many others, considering the the point in the game that it occurred in.

It hardly made a difference as his team was up 3 possessions late in the 4th quarter, Cignetti was still visibly steaming. Here’s a look at that moment:

The Hoosiers ultimately went on to win the game against FIU, 31-7, marking a solid start to the beginning of his coaching era. Obviously, he’ll need to prove that Indiana can replicate the same type of results in a higher-level environment, but there’s no reason for anything but optimism for the time being.

Cignetti wants to continue to change a lot of things within the program, including creating a true Power Four environment.

“There’s a lot of things we’re trying to change here,” Cignetti said after the game. “Another thing we’re trying to change in tradition is we gotta keep the people in the seats after halftime. We need to create a power four environment in the stadium.”

Indiana will host Western Illinois in Week 2.
