After reclassifying, Toney remains a blue-chip commitment for Miami. Out of prominent South Florida high school American Heritage, Toney is listed as measuring over 5-10 and 182 pounds. As a Class of 2025 prospect, the 247Sports Composite rates Toney 4-stars, the No. 25 wide receiver, No. 34 player in the state of Florida and No. 215 prospect overall nationally.
Toney is the son of former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown, not to be confused with Antonio Brown the 4-time first-team All-Pro selection. Toney’s father played for the Buffalo Bills (2003) and Washington Redskins (2004-05) after playing for WVU.
During his recruitment, Toney drew notable interest. He has collected scholarship offers from 16 programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Michigan, NC State, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
With Toney reclassified, Miami now has 22 verbal pledges in its 2025 recruiting class, which ranks No. 11 nationally on the Composite. Hurricanes fans who don’t follow American Heritage can get a preview of what Toney brings to Coral Gables by checking out highlights from his sophomore season in the video below, from Hudl:
Miami might be back. Still TBD. At least they are in a conference where only Clemson and Louisville seem to have anything going for them. VT is a mess. NC State got exposed. GT’s hype train ran into Syracuse…who we don’t know anything about. With UF and FSU stumbling, the U has all of the momentum to dominate Florida on the recruiting trail and control the conference
