Mike Tomlin issues strong statement denying interest in USC job
Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers are approaching the midway point of the 2021 season, but the coach has found his name in the rumor mill.
Tomlin has been connected to the USC job, including by former NFL and Trojan star Carson Palmer during a media appearance on Monday.
On Tuesday, though, Tomlin put a lid on that talk, issuing a strong statement denying interest in the USC job:
Tomlin on USC rumors "I don't have time for that speculation. That's a joke to me. I've of one of the best job in all of professional sport. Why would I have any interest in coaching college football? Never say never. But never. There's not a booster with a big enough blank check"

Yeah, Mike Tomlin is very much not entertaining the USC job. He is SO mad. pic.twitter.com/JbpF5eQnz0

As far as rumor denials go, that’s a pretty strong one. However, perhaps USC boosters will see that last sentence about there not being a blank check big enough as a challenge.
It seems Tomlin is more than content in Pittsburgh at the moment. But, in the football world, things can change quickly.
