Ryder Cup trash talking is no surprise, but what came out of nowhere late Friday morning was a troll job from NBC Sports commentator Paul Azinger.

It came shortly after the former Florida State, Azinger, watched fellow former FSU golfers Brooks Koepka and Daniel Berger take down Lee Westwood and Matt Fitzpatrick 2 and 1 in opening session of RyderCup.

“First win of the year for Florida State!,” Azinger said on the Golf Channel broadcast.

Azinger was, of course, referring to the football team, and the Seminoles are 0-3 so far this season as they get set to play Louisville on Saturday.

Azinger was elected to the Florida State Hall of Fame in 1988, and he completed his collegiate career at FSU in 1981. After he transferred from Brevard Community College, Azinger led the Seminole golf team to its highest ranking ever.

The Americans are off to a great start in the Ryder Cup, which is being played in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and lead 3-1 after the first session, with four-ball (best ball) to take place in the afternoon.
