Scott Frost’s fourth season as Nebraska head coach isn’t off to a great start.

On Saturday, the Cornhuskers dropped their 2021 season opener, taking a 30-22 loss at Illinois. Nebraska is now 12-21 under Frost, who was hired prior to the 2018 season.

The Cornhuskers have had a losing record each of Frost’s first three seasons at the helm. And if Saturday was any indication, they could be heading toward another.

Nebraska and Illinois were tied at 9 late in the first half, but the Fighting Illini took a 16-9 lead into the break. After that, they also scored the game’s next two touchdowns, taking a 30-9 lead with 4 minutes, 1 second to go in the third quarter.

The Cornhuskers couldn’t come back, while Frost was getting roasted on social media as the team’s loss came to an end.
