Scott Frost and the Nebraska Cornhuskers suffered another brutal loss in a 1-possession game on Saturday, falling 31-28 to Northwestern in Ireland.

Early in the third quarter, Nebraska held a 28-17 lead. That’s when disaster struck, though, as Frost called an ill-advised onside kick, setting up the Wildcats with great field position. Nebraska wouldn’t score again for the rest of the game.

After the loss, which dropped Frost to 5-21 in one-possession games at Nebraska, he said he wouldn’t make the call again if he could do it all over:

After losing so many 1-possession games last season, this Week 0 loss will have Nebraska fans ready to hit the panic button.

It also significantly increases the hot-seat chatter around Frost. If he doesn’t turn things around quickly, Nebraska will likely be looking for a new head coach sooner rather than later.
