When it comes to reporting on ESPN, no one beats New York Post writer Andrew Marchand.

Marchand’s latest report is a doozy, and it involves the popular morning debate show “First Take.”

The show is moving on from Max Kellerman as Stephen A. Smith’s cohost, and will reportedly have a rotating cast of guest hosts in the near future. But, who will end up in the permanent role?

According to Marchand’s latest report, Smith wants Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson as his cohost:

These days, what Stephen A. Smith wants at ESPN, Stephen A. gets.

Next up, Magic Johnson.

Smith wants to team up with Johnson, possibly on “NBA Countdown,” the pregame show that leads into the NBA Finals and other marquee games, according to sources.

The report goes on to say that Smith would want “Pardon the Interruption” cohost Michael Wilbon on the show frequently, too.

Considering Smith usually gets his way at ESPN, we’ll see what happens with the popular show in the coming weeks and months!
