Travis Hunter seems to be inching closer to the 2024 Heisman Trophy.

Hunter entered Week 12 as the favorite to win the award and he’s off to a good start on Saturday against Utah. Late in the first quarter against the Utes, Hunter picked off a deflected pass from Isaac Wilson.

Here’s a replay:

To celebrate the play, Hunter hit the iconic Heisman pose:

Hunter did receive an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for throwing the ball up at the end of the play. This was his third interception of the season.

Hunter is in the midst of a historic season. He’s played the vast majority of snaps for Colorado on both sides of the ball this season. His statistics include 856 receiving yards, 9 touchdowns, 21 tackles, 7 pass deflections and 3 interceptions.

Colorado is looking to improve to 8-2 on the season with a win over Utah on Saturday.
