Players to Watch, Penn State vs. Notre Dame
This is an unusual national semifinal for a few reasons. For one, it’s the first season that college football is including 12 teams in the College Football Playoff, so both the Nittany Lions and Fighting Irish – neither being first-round bye teams – had to do some work to get here. Notre Dame downed Indiana and Georgia while Penn State took down SMU and Boise State. Neither team had any trouble with all 4 of their previous opponents.
