USC and Washington both appear to have their eyes focused on one man to fill their vacant head coaching spots.

Baylor head coach Dave Aranda, who has become a hot name within the coaching carousel, has emerged as a target for both programs, with FOX Sports and The Athletic college football insider Bruce Feldman saying that both are “very intrigued” by the prospects of bringing him on board. That comes as the Bears defeated Oklahoma on Nov. 13 to improve to 8-2 and drop the Sooners to 9-1.

As Feldman notes, Aranda is a Southern California native and still has family there, so the job in L.A. could potentially be a great draw for him.

”He realizes and is very self-aware about how he may not be an ideal fit in certain settings, so he’s going to be very careful about what his next move is,” Feldman did state during “Big Noon Kickoff” on Saturday.

For now, it’s possible that a pair of Pac-12 teams might have to bid against each other for the services of Aranda if they truly want him.
