WATCH: Georgia Tech players pay tribute to late teammate Brandon Adams
Georgia Tech during its game against Clemson on Thursday paid tribute to Brandon Adams, who died this spring after he collapsed while practicing for a step show.
Wearing Adams’ No. 90 T-shirts, several Georgia Tech players memorialized Adams’ life. His best friend, Chris Martin, was set to wear Adams’ No. 90 jersey during the game.
Adams was a senior defensive lineman from Brentwood, Tennessee. He was 21.
Adams played in 33 games over three seasons for the Yellow Jackets from 2016-18. He made 41 career tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and had two forced fumbles with career-best numbers in 2018 (24 tackles, five tackles for loss and two forced fumbles in 13 games).
“Our entire Georgia Tech football family is heartbroken by the news of Brandon’s passing,” said Geoff Collins, Georgia Tech football head coach, in a statement released about five months ago. “In the short time that I have had the privilege and honor of knowing Brandon, I admired and respected him, first and foremost as a terrific human being, but also as an outstanding teammate and leader. Jennifer and I offer our thoughts, prayers and unconditional support to his parents, Lisa and Reginald, his sister, Rian, and all of his family and friends, especially his brothers in our football program.”
