At 6-0, with three SEC wins away from Kyle Field, Texas A&M would have as strong of a case for the College Football Playoff as any team in the country.

To do that, the Aggies are going to have to outscore Mississippi State today on the road.

Kevin Sumlin, Kenny Hill and company need to dial up the offensive tempo in a big way. DE Preston Smith, LB Benardrick McKinney and company need to be on their heels, taking the sting out of their disruptive ability. The passing game needs to stress the secondary over the top again and again. And Mississippi State’s crowd needs deflating, including those cowbells.

This is the perfect opportunity to put the offense into overdrive. Mississippi State, with a dynamic quarterback, is going to get yards and points. But if Texas A&M scores every possession, it won’t matter. (Think Texas A&M-Auburn last year before Johnny Manziel got hurt.)

We’re in for a heck of a football game. How many points will it take to win?
