After a couple of days of “will he or won’t he?” talk, former UCLA offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone made things official with Texas A&M on Friday.

The former Ole Miss and Auburn coordinator will serve in the same role for Kevin Sumlin at Texas A&M.

According to a press release from the school, Mazzone had a simple statement following the completion of the deal:

“I am excited about the opportunity to work with Coach Sumlin and the Aggie football team,” Mazzone said. “I am ready to get started.”

Mazzone, who will replace the recently departed OC Jake Spavital, previously worked with Sumlin at Minnesota.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Mazzone could be bringing his son, Taylor, along to College Station as well. Taylor Mazzone served as the quarterbacks coach at UCLA last season.
