Update: Ainias Smith has a walking boot on the sideline and is on crutches.

Ainias Smith was injured during the third quarter of the Southwest Classic between Texas A&M and Arkansas.

With 1:15 left in the third quarter, Smith injured his leg. Max Johnson rushed to his side of the field, and Smith, who was blocking a defender at the time, got rolled up on by a couple of different players.

Smith immediately went down holding his leg. He was helped off the field by trainers while putting no weight on his leg, and he went directly into the injury tent.

The Texas A&M playmaker is one of the heart-and-soul players on this unit for Jimbo Fisher and company.

Smith has caught 1 pass for 32 yards against the Razorbacks. Heading into Saturday’s matchup against Arkansas, Smith has recorded 126 catches for 1,580 yards and 17 touchdowns. He’s also added 384 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns.

We’ll update Smith’s status once it’s provided.

Texas A&M leads Arkansas 23-14 with just under 14 minutes left in the 4th quarter.
