The Texas A&M Aggies fired coach Kevin Sumlin prior to the 2018 season because of too many 8-5 seasons, so 9-4 wasn’t what they were hoping for in Jimbo Fisher’s first year at the helm of the program.

However, Fisher’s squad showed signs of improvement, and there’s reason to believe 10 wins could be in the cards for the Aggies this fall.

On Tuesday, the Lindy’s Sports preseason magazine came out, and in it, an anonymous SEC coach said he is a big fan of Fisher’s (via 247Sports):

“I think Jimbo Fisher is as good a coach as they come,” one anonymous SEC coach told Lindy’s. “The biggest difference in the program from the first to the second year is to set the culture. I have a high level of respect for the way Jimbo runs his program. He did a helluva job with that kid Kellen Mond, he really did. I didn’t think (Kellen) Mond would be that good. That son of a gun was really good.”

This year, the schedule doesn’t do the Aggies any favors, as they have road games at Clemson, Georgia and LSU and also have to play host to Alabama.

None of those will be easy, so A&M will likely have to pull off an upset or two to keep the improvements coming in Fisher’s second year with the program.
