Bucket celebration: Texas A&M commit Demond Demas, Steve Spurrier revel in Polynesian Bowl victory
Put Steve Spurrier with some of the best recruits across the SEC, and that’s a winning formula. That was exactly the case in this year’s Polynesian Bowl, as Spurrier led Team Mauka to 20-13 victory over Frank Beamer’s team.
On the sideline, Spurrier didn’t seem to mind being on the receiving end of an ice bucket to celebrate the win, and proclaimed, in pure Spurrier fashion, “bowl wins you’re supposed to get it.”
The most impressive player was future LSU Tiger Antoine Sampah, according to 247Sports. He had nine tackles and a late forced fumble to setup the game-winning touchdown.
Texas A&M signee Demond Demas, before he showered Spurrier with a bucket on the sideline, made several impressive plays, including this one:
