Buzz Williams announces Texas A&M grad transfer forward out for season with ACL tear
Jalen Johnson’s 2021-22 season with the Texas A&M men’s basketball team is over before it even began.
Johnson was an offseason transfer after stops at Saint Louis, Louisiana, and Mississippi State and was expected to add a strong veteran rebounding and scoring presence to the Aggies’ roster.
However, according to Buzz Williams on his weekly radio show on Monday, the forward has torn his ACL and has been lost for the season.

Johnson was one of 6 incoming transfers for Texas A&M, joining Aaron Cash-Johnson, Ethan Henderson, Henry Coleman III, Marcus Williams and Tyrece Radford.
The Aggies finished the 2020-21 season with a 16-14 mark, 10-8 in the SEC. They take on Texas A&M-Kingsville in an exhibition on Nov. 1 before opening the regular season against North Florida on Nov. 10.
