Jimbo Fisher announces Texas A&M receiver will be out for the season due to injury
Tough news from College Station as one of the breakout performers from Texas A&M’s big upset win over Florida is expected to miss the rest of the season due to injury.
Jimbo Fisher confirmed on Monday that redshirt sophomore receiver Caleb Chapman suffered a season-ending injury against the Gators. Chapman played in 11 games during the 2019 season.
Chapman led the Aggies with nine catches for 151 yards and two touchdowns against the Gators. The receiver was injured during his 51-yard touchdown reception with 4:30 remaining in the game.
He suffered a lower-body injury during the play and had to be helped off the field.
The sophomore was the team’s second-leading receiver with 14 catches for 197 yards and three touchdowns during the 2020 season.
Aside from the misfortune of losing a talented young player, Texas A&M has already lost several receivers for the season as senior Jhamon Ausbon opted out and Camron Buckley was lost for the season due to injury during training camp.
I think he got injured while abusing Marco Wilson
It’s a shame. He finally worked himself back to 100% after a knee injury early 2018. There is still a lot of talented WRs, just inexperienced. All the more reason to simply run the ball methodically up and down the field on Miss State.
Dang.
I got nothing other than that, but just wanted to get it out there.
That sucks. Young man had some clutch receptions last Saturday. Best of health to him and best wishes for his recovery.
