A few days after Jimbo Fisher announced defensive back Clifford Chattman had opted out for the 2020 season, one game into the Aggies’ current season, the veteran defensive back has confirmed he has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Chattman made 12 appearances for the Aggies last season and made three starts at the nickelback position.

During his time in College Station, Chattman has 35 tackles, five passes defended and an interception.

On Wednesday, the Aggie shared the following statement that reads like a goodbye to Texas A&M:

“Extremely thankful for the opportunity I was given at Texas A&M University. I am also grateful for the relationships I’ve made along the way. Earning a degree from Texas A&M University has been life long dream and I was able to accomplish that and it’s something that will be with me forever. With that being said, I have entered my name in the transfer portal as a graduate student.”

Chattman is the sixth Aggie to make the decision to opt-out for the 2020 season, joining quarterback James Foster, defensive backs Elijah Blades and Derrick Tucker, receiver Jhamon Ausbon and linebacker Anthony Hines III.
