Texas A&M has had a rough week.

It all started Sunday night when the Aggies blew a 34-point lead in losing to UCLA 45-44. Unfortunately for head coach Kevin Sumlin, that was just the beginning as an A&M Board of Regents member publicly called for Sumlin to be fired on Facebook.

Colin Cowherd, host of The Herd on Fox Sports Radio, weighed in on the topic, and he believes Johnny Manziel’s time in school gave Aggies fans a misplaced sense of achievement.

“Johnny Manziel gave A&M fans a false sense of ‘wow, we’re really special.’ And no you’re not. You are a slightly better than average college football program.”

Cowherd continued,  “For a couple of years, due to a wildly dynamic and exhilarating QB named Johnny Manziel, you competed with Alabama,” said Cowherd. “‘Hey, we’re special, we’re elite.’ No, you’re completely average.”
