The split between those who say Texas A&M is underrated and that Texas A&M is overrated is a fairly equal one. The same goes for those who believe Jimbo Fisher is a good head coach or not.

But if there’s one thing that absolutely cannot be questioned, it’s the level of talent the Aggies bring to the table. Fisher has been solid on the recruiting trail, putting together two back-to-back top 10 classes.

ESPN’s David Pollack says Fisher “hasn’t had talent like he has now” and obviously sees that playing to his advantage.

“There’s a difference when you stack two top three classes on top of each other and the number one class in the country last year,” Pollack said. “Every coach in America will tell you that that’s kind of hard to screw up. It really is. It’s kind of hard to screw up that great of talent. Look at Kirby (Smart), look at Nick (Saban), look at Dabo (Swinney). Consistently they’re great coaches. Don’t get me wrong but, again, it ain’t like they’re missing with their talent year after year after year.”

Could Texas A&M take another jump this year? It’s not at all outlandish to think so between the roster the Aggies have and the flashes they showed last year, headlined by a huge upset victory over Alabama at Kyle Field.
