Jimbo Fisher updates the status of suspended DB Debione Renfro heading into Clemson game
Texas A&M will likely need all the help it can get Saturday when the Aggies travel to Clemson to take on the No. 1 team in the nation. That being said, Mike Elko’s defensive will be short-handed yet again on the backend of its defense.
That’s because starting cornerback Debione Renfro remains suspended in College Station, Jimbo Fisher announced on Monday. Fisher originally announced Renfro’s suspension heading into the season opener against Texas State. Renfro was suspended for a “violation of team rules” according to Fisher.
During his opening Clemson press conference, Fisher announced Renfro would be held out one more game due to the suspension.
The junior defensive back appeared in all 13 games for the Aggies in 2018 and registered 37 tackles with five pass breakups. He was scheduled to start for the Aggies heading into the season, but due to his suspension, he’s started the season on the bench.
